The The United Nations was created by governments in order to prevent international chaos. Countries who join the United Nations are called member states. All member states agree to join together when any of the other member states is attacked. This cooperation among members is called a collective security arrangement. The United Nations is most successful when countries put aside their differences and work together to achieve a common goal.
In Model United Nations, students have the opportunity to play the part of a country in a United Nations debate. The goal is to create solutions to current world problems.
